Flag a line for us

If a line in one of your stories is wrong, flag it. Your report goes to the Stichos team, not to your students, and we read every one to make the stories better. You can also send feedback on a whole story, or rate it after you publish it.

Flags, feedback, and ratings need the Educator Studio plan and a confirmed email. They work on any story you’ve made in Educator Studio, draft or published.

Flag a line that’s wrong

  1. Open the story from Stories.
  2. Choose Flag a line in the bar under the reader toolbar. Every line of the story becomes a button, and words don’t open their meanings until you’re done.
  3. Choose the line. The Flag this line box opens, showing the line and its translation.
  4. Under What’s wrong?, choose one: Grammar, Word choice, Translation, Too hard for the level, Sounds unnatural, or Other.
  5. If the line has a translation, choose Sentence or Translation under Which part?. Choosing Translation in step 4 picks it for you.
  6. If you like, write the fix under What should it say? (optional), up to 1,000 characters.
  7. Choose Send.

A message says “Thanks for the feedback. We’ll look into it.”, and a small flag appears after the line. Only you see it.

To leave without flagging, press Escape or choose Flag a line again.

Choose what’s wrong, add a note if you like, and send it to the Stichos team.

Example

Say Elena, reading “На рынке” before class, spots a noun in the wrong case. She chooses Flag a line, picks the line, chooses Grammar, types “Should be accusative here.”, and chooses Send. Then she fixes the line herself with Edit in the bar.

Send feedback on the whole story

  1. Choose ⋯ (More story actions) next to Flag a line.
  2. Choose Send feedback on this story.
  3. In Feedback on this story, choose what’s wrong, add a note under Tell us more (optional) if you like, and choose Send.

Rate a story after you publish it

When you open a published story you haven’t rated, a line under the status asks “How was this story?”

  • Choose the thumbs up (It was good). Your rating is sent at once.
  • Or choose the thumbs down (It needs work), add a note under What could be better? (optional) if you like, and choose Send.

A message says “Thanks for rating this story.” To skip it, choose × (Don’t ask about this story). Stichos won’t ask about that story again, on any device.

What happens to my report?

  • It reaches the Stichos team only. Your students never see it.
  • Stichos keeps a copy of the line as it was, so your report still makes sense if you edit or delete the story.
  • It doesn’t change your story. To fix the line for your students, use Edit in the bar: see Edit lines and publish.
  • Your reports are in your data download, and are deleted with your account.
It says “You’ve sent a lot of feedback today”.

You can flag up to 50 lines or stories a day. Ratings don’t count. You can send more tomorrow.

My plan ended. Can I still flag lines?

No. Flagging lines needs an active Educator Studio plan.
