Download your data
Download my data, in Settings › Account, saves everything in your account as one JSON file, plus your Word Bank as a CSV file. You confirm with your password, and you can download once a day.
Download your data
- Open the account menu (your avatar at the top of the app) and choose Settings.
- Choose the Account tab. Under Your data, choose Download my data.
- Type your password under Your password.
- Choose Download.
Stichos says “Your data is downloading: a JSON file with everything in your account, and your Word Bank as CSV.” Your browser saves two files:
stichos-data-and the date, ending.json: everything in your account.stichos_vocab_and the date, ending.csv: your Word Bank, if you have saved words.
Example
Sarah wants a copy of her Croatian and Greek words before she starts a new course. She downloads her data and opens the CSV file in a spreadsheet.
What’s in the file
The JSON file holds your account’s own data, such as:
- your profile, settings, and sign-in methods;
- your consent record (Terms version and date, tutor share promise);
- your plan and usage;
- your Library, Recent, and Word Bank;
- for tutors: your Educator Studio stories, units, word lists, links, students, and the reading on your tracked links.
It never holds your password, or anything about another person’s account.
If you have two-factor sign-in on
You may be asked to confirm it’s you with a code or passkey first, if you haven’t in the last 10 minutes. See Two-factor sign-in.
If you sign in only with Google, Microsoft, or Apple and have two-factor on, your code or passkey is enough. Without two-factor, you need a password first. If you have no password and two-factor is off, sign in again with your provider first; the download works for the next 10 minutes. See Set a password.
It says I can download only once a day
Each download starts a 24-hour wait before the next one. Try again later. To export only your words, use the Word Bank’s CSV export, which has no daily limit. See Export words to CSV.
Can I open the JSON file?
Yes, in any text editor. It’s plain text, laid out to be readable, but long. The CSV file opens in a spreadsheet.
